Our talented and acclaimed Artistic Directors Dr. Linda Mack Berven and Amy Barrett have designed a season sure to move and delight you.
Your dedication to DCS is good for Durango and good for your health. Research on singing and community shows a tight relationship between involvement in the choral arts and a higher quality of life. This is seen across age groups and rings true for singers, volunteers and audience members alike. Youngsters involved in choral groups are shown to have higher grades, a well-developed sense of responsibility and more involvement in volunteerism and leadership roles as they grow. Singers of every age enjoy health benefits ranging from general stress reduction to cardio strengthening. Did you know that choral singing and listening is helpful in maintaining mental agility?
